Btw. Flamanville - nebyl to excelentní příklad jistého chaosu v plánování, změn v průběhu (na což tedy z velké části měly podíl nové a nové externí požadavky) apod., které by se při stavbě JE neměly stávat, různé problémy (např. vadné svary a jejich předělávání a další "průsery" dodavatelů) navíc také varovný příklad toho, co se stane při rozpadu kontinuity jaderných staveb (ve FR se dvě dekády nové reaktory nestavěly ::L)? Přítom Flamanville mělo být pro EDF vzorem nových reaktorů generace III+

Taková rozporuplná zpráva z Francie. Konečně se podařilo spustit novou jadernou elektrárnu Flamanville 3. Jako fanouška jederné energetiky mne to určitě těší. NIcméně stavba trvala citelně déle než se plánovalo (17 let) a citelně se prodražila (až na 13,2 miliard EUR, tedy hodně přes 300 miliard korun). V souvislosti s tím by bylo dobré počítat, že i nové JE co se budou stavět tady u nás budou v provozu až za docela dlouho a určitě nebudou levné.

The Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar has for years overseen a secret police force in Gaza that conducted surveillance on everyday Palestinians and built files on young people, journalists and those who questioned the government, according to intelligence officials and a trove of internal documents reviewed by The New York Times.

The unit, known as the General Security Service, relied on a network of Gaza informants, some of whom reported their own neighbors to the police. People landed in security files for attending protests or publicly criticizing Hamas. In some cases, the records suggest that the authorities followed people to determine if they were carrying on romantic relationships outside marriage.

Hamas has long run an oppressive system of governance in Gaza, and many Palestinians there know that security officials watch them closely. But a 62-slide presentation on the activities of the General Security Service, delivered only weeks before the Oct. 7 attack on Israel, reveals the degree to which the largely unknown unit penetrated the lives of Palestinians.

The documents show that Hamas leaders, despite claiming to represent the people of Gaza, would not tolerate even a whiff of dissent. Security officials trailed journalists and people they suspected of immoral behavior. Agents got criticism removed from social media and discussed ways to defame political adversaries. Political protests were viewed as threats to be undermined.
Everyday Gazans were stuck — behind the wall of Israel’s crippling blockade and under the thumb and constant watch of a security force. That dilemma continues today, with the added threat of Israeli ground troops and airstrikes.

“We’re facing bombardment by the occupation and thuggery by the local authorities,” Ehab Fasfous, a journalist in the Gaza Strip who appeared in the files of the General Security Service, said in a phone interview from Gaza.

The Biden administration has concluded it is “reasonable to assess” that Israel’s military campaign in Gaza has violated international law, but has not found specific instances that would justify the withholding of military aid, the State Department told Congress on Friday.

In the administration’s most detailed assessment of Israel’s conduct in Gaza, the State Department said in a written report to Congress that Israel “has the knowledge, experience and tools to implement best practices for mitigating civilian harm in its military operations.”

But it added that “the results on the ground, including high levels of civilian casualties, raise substantial questions” as to whether the Israel Defense Forces are using them sufficiently.

ADOLF [ 00:17:21 06.05.2024 ]: Fizzán, dialektem Fezzán, je to jihozápad v hlubokém vnitrozemí a s nepatrným podílem obyvatel. Ale důvod intervence byl spíše v Tunisku. Tenkrát francouzská ministryně zahraničí navrhla intervenci proti tuniským demonstrantům, pak se ukázalo, že se s bývalou tuniskou vládou stýkala dost osobně. Paní Alliot-Marie podala demisi a Francouzi napadli Libyi, což byl asi nejhorší nápad, který dostali od skončení alžírské války.
Koloniální bolístky se soustředí ponejvíce na Alžírsko, Fizzán není záležitost, která by někoho zvlášť hlodala. Byli tam krátce a byla to převážně politická a diplomatická záležitost. Nejen Alžírsko, ale i to Tunisko a Maroko zanechaly bouřlivější dojem.
